I sing: nursery rhymes in the car with Ryn and then to myself the rest of the day at work
I don't always: get my way and it pisses me off!

I don't understand: child abuse
I can usually: accomplish anything I start and that I put my mind too.
I need: to have my few moments of alone time!

Sunday we had the Monty's Pumpkin Carve at Pompa Guys and Pompa Lanes. It was so much fun to see the kids dressed up and picking out their pumpkins from Pompas garden. After they carved and Ryn colored on their pumpkins we all sat around and watched the kids shake it to music. Well Holdyn and Ryn were the only ones shaking it, but it was great fun. We were even Lucky enough to hear Jaxson sign his favorite Halloween song! Then came the awards. Ryn got "most colored on pumpkin"! Way to go baby girl :) Stay tuned for Pumpkin carve 2 with the Messinas! Happy Halloween!

Flu Shot!

Ryn was super funny when she got her shot yesterday. On the way to the Dr. Office she was bouncing around and singing all about her flu shot, so I knew that she didn't really know what a shot was, so I told her that mommy will hold her hand because it is going to pinch a little, but it will be ok. She just looked at me like whatever. I sat her on the bed and said ok hold mommy's hand and lets sing the ABC's. We got to "e" and then came the shot. She jumped so high and stopped singing so fast. Then her eyes watered and said "oh mommy she pinched me". She cried for not even 2 seconds and then decided she was fine. Megan our girl that gives the shots asked her if she could have a huge before we left. Ryn kinda looked at me for a second and then turned to her and said "ok, but please don't pinch me this time!!" Oh it was so cute. Then I told her how brave she was and that mommy was going to have to get a flu shot in the next couple of days. She looked at me dead serious and said, "don't worry mom I will hold your hand, because it is going to pinch really really bad"! How cute is that :)

Nama and Papa are pretty much the bomb! They are so awesome to us 3 girls, and even more awesome to their 3 amazing grand kids. I just wanted to tell both of you how much all of us appreciate everything you do for us from getting us out of the the bottomless holes we throw ourselves in, to the Harley rides and talks. We are forever grateful. Thank you so much for not only being the best Nama and Papa ever, but for also being our best friends.

Monday night Pompa Lane and Pompa Guy brought us out a bunch of new flowers and shrubs to plant in our yard. It was so cute watching Ryn and daddy digging in the dirt. Ryn loves yard work and is such a big helper. Thank you so much Pompa Lane and Pompa Guy. We love you!

Trip to the Zoo

Last Saturday was the most perfect day to go to the zoo! Nama, Aunt Jen, daddy and I packed up the kids and off we went. Ryn wasn't quite sure about the monkeys . . .well actually she hated them. She wouldn't even look at them. She just kept telling us that they were "so scary"!! Madi and Zach thought that they were very entertaining. The elephants were also a treat to see. Ryn was of course way more fascinated with how big the poopies were then the elephants themselves! Madi's favorite animals were the penguins. I thought that they were stinky, but Madi loved them! Zach's favorite animal was the Gorilla and Ryns was the albino alligator . . .she wanted to swim with him!! Yes I know I am in trouble!! Anyways it was a great day and the kids had a blast :)

Aunt Taylor turned 24. We celebrated her birthday at Pompa Guys and Pompa Lanes on Friday night. Aunt Taylor was being so silly! We love you and hope you had a great day! Ryn was lucky and got to open a present too. Pompa Lane got her a beautiful dress while they were in Mexico and of course Ryn had to put it on a strut her stuff . . .love it!

So Taylor inspired me to read http://adailyscoop.blogspot.com/ this blog. It is about a women who lost her 14 month old baby in June. It is tragic and amazing. Her words and thoughts are beautiful. She has touched so many lives. She has asked us all to write down the little things your child does and your favorite things they do. After reading her story I have learned to love , admire and appreciate every moment with Kamryn. Her smile takes my breath away and her laughter brings me back to life again. Here are what we call Ryn moments . . .unforgettable:

Her piercing blue eyes and magical smile

How she looks up at me and says, "I love my mommy"

When she yells "faster" on the 4wheeler with daddy

Oh Duck!!

All of the boys are away so Nama, Aunt Jen and I decided to take the kids to feed some ducks at a near by pond. Oh the kids and Aunt Jen had a blast. I have to be honest Aunt Jens was hilarious! When we were growing up we would love to feed ducks so I just figured Jen would remember, well she didn't! When we first got to the pond and she saw all 200 of the ducks she looked at me and said "really?" Then she told me to leave my car running and her door open so that if she needed to run from the ducks she could. I of course laughed at her turned off my car and locked the doors!! After a few moments she realized that the ducks just wanted her bread! The kids all picked out their favorite duck and couldn't feed them fast enough. I am pretty sure we will be doing this again soon so please stay tuned for Oh Duck 2!!

So after dinner on Sunday night at my moms, Ryn wanted to play Peek-A-Boo with Justin. (Justin is her boyfriend, actually Caitlins boyfriend, but Ryn thinks he is always there for her!) Well instead of playing Peek-A-Boo we played OOPS. It ended up being pretty entertaining. As you can see we called it OOPS because that is what we said to Ryn when she couldn't get her head out! After laughing for a good 5 minutes and taking pictures we decided we better get her out. It only took a few minutes and the chair is still in one peace . . . OOPS!!

Ryn decided that it was time for her to have her very own 4 wheeler! Now deciding between the Pink Princess one or the Purple Tinker Bell one was very serious matter. At the store she had to sit, touch and ride each one. She would have been happy to take both, but daddy made her choose. She told him that she need to have two of them so she could share one with him . . . . . it was a very good try! I am glad to say that Tinker Bell won! Ryn was been cruising all over the neighborhood. She has even taught herself a few tricks, like kicking her feet up on the handle bars, kneeling on the seat and even standing up will cruising . . . very talented! When it is time to come in for the night she parks her 4 wheeler right next to daddy's in the garage . . . she said that is so daddy's 4 wheeler isn't scared at night :)

Tibble Fork Lake

On Sunday Nama and Papa took us rafting on Tibble Fork Lake. Madi, Zach and Ryn loved chasing the ducks around on the lake. I thought Ryn was going to launch herself off the raft to swim with the ducks. She kept asking me where the ducks raft was . . . seriously how do you explain that to a 2 year old! Anyways, after rafting we went and found a shaded picnic area and let the kids throw rocks into in the stream. It was a great way to spend a relaxing Sunday. Thanks Nama and Papa!

Bama and Mommy had a booth down at Draper days, so daddy took me me say hi. While I was there mommy and daddy took me on a pony ride, not just once but 5 times! Then I made daddy scream when I touched the snakes. I also got to meet a desert turtle that was bigger then me. My most favorite event was when I was brave enough to go on the "animal train "! I loved it. Mommy held my hand and ran beside me the whole way. Before the day was over I had time to shake my bum to live misc!

So I have to tell you. . . . Ryn is potty trained! Going pee pee in the potty was no big deal for her. As long as I would do the potty dance afterwards! She got a big kick out of that. Now poopy on the other hand was not so easy. We would constantly ask her though out the day if she was ready to poopy on the potty. She would scream "I don't have to" as she was running away to hide! Finally we told her that when she was ready to be a big girl we would take her to target and let her pick out a NEW bike! A few days later she tapped me on my leg and said "I need to poopy". I plopped her on the potty and away she went. We were both jumping and dancing for joy. Before I could even pull her pants up she was ready to go get her bike! That night mommy and daddy took her to get her NEW bike! As we were walking and she was riding to the check stand she was insisting that everyone look at her new "Poopy Bike"! It was one of our funnest target adventures yet!

Happy 4th of July

The Monty's LOVE 4th of July! Our day of activities start bright and early at 8:00, yes 8:00 am! We cheer on the Murray Parade. Grandma V is the bomb and shows up with a cooler of hot breakfast burritos and ice cold juice. We all sit along curb side and watch the decorated cars, bikes and animals trot by. Ryn, not surprisingly is more interested in the animals that are in the parade then all the yummy candy and treats that are constantly being launched at us! After the parade we then venture over to Grandma V's for an afternoon of eating and swimming. The kids have a blast. Around five, Grandma Guy or Pom pa (according to Ryn) fires up the grill. The grill now becomes the main hang out for the Monty boys! We all over eat and lay around sick for the next hour or so before we go to fireworks! Ah the fireworks, the day is coming to an end! We go to Jordan High School to watch fireworks, it really is the perfect spot. Ryn and Pom pa walked over to the "man" again, according to Ryn, but formally known as the ice cream man and bought some ice cream. Grandma Lane then let her rip into her sack of flags, star headbands and glow in the dark sticks . . The fireworks were awesome. Ryn fell asleep before we even drove out of the parking lots. I think we would all agree that it was a good day!!
